Here at FCC, we want you to feel comfortable. Our diverse community encompasses all kinds of wardrobe choices, from a favorite pair of blue jeans to a traditional suit and tie. Your presence is valuable to God, regardless of what you wear. Come as you are, and allow yourself to take in what God has in store for you.
We know checking out a new church can be a little intimidating and uncomfortable. Don’t panic. Here’s everything you need to know about FCC to help make your first visit easier and stress-free.
FCC is not just a church building complete with cross and steeple. At FCC, we are a community of people from all generations, backgrounds, and circumstances that fully support one another through every struggle and celebration that life brings. We love people and we love Jesus. Simple as that.

Our History
First Christian Church was organized in Clinton, Illinois in 1852. The first church building at the corner of Quincy and South Streets was dedicated in 1853; the land was given by Judge David Davis. The lot at Adams and Monroe was purchased in 1882 through the Ladies Aid Society, and the building was dedicated there in 1889. This building burned on December 18, 1945. Services were held at the YMCA, Knights of Pythias hall, the courthouse and the high school until the third church building at the present location was dedicated on September 18, 1949 (built at a cost of $160,000). The education unit was built in 1963, and the first Sunday in the new Sanctuary was November 16, 1997.
